The Gap Band

When I was in high school I was assigned a project in my history class that had to do with music. We had just finished learning about World War Two and had to write the lyrics to a song that told the of the war. my best friend Carly and I chose the song "You Dropped a Bomb on Me" by the Gap Band.

We were also instructed to do a bit of research about the song we chose to write our lyrics to. As it turned out, Gap Band is a band that came about in the 1970's and 1980's. The band started with the Wilson brothers and a large group of musicians from Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Reflecting on this project it comes across a bit hokey, but it was really fun and a great project at the time that I will never forget.
