Recently I’ve noticed 'Now Hiring' signs on every retail store I find myself entering. I'm really surprised in the lack of workers this nation is seeing during an economic slump. It further makes me wonder if employers will relax some of their candidate requirements. I've filled out Old Navy applications before and they're not as bad as some companies but they are in the higher percentile when it comes to application length. The amount of questions they ask is large and digs deep down into a persons' personality traits; I've taken shorter dating surveys. They may have to accept applications that are less than their perfect worker.

Well the numbers for last month (June) are in and most economists believe stimulus checks got spent at discount stores like Old Navy stores. Other stores like American Eagle and Hollister, i.e. specialty dress stores, were reportedly down in sales compared to previous years; which isn't unlikely when compared to the rest of the economy. Of course it appears that the super-monopoly chain Wal-Mart had an increase of over 4 percent. Excluding Wal-Mart the retail industry was reported to have about a 2 percent increase in sales; this is a good sign that the consumer actually spent their tax checks and didn't just save them.

Is there an Old Navy Outlet?

There is a lot of argument about whether or not there really is an Old Navy Outlet store? Some think that the Old Navy brand is so cheap that it doesn't need an outlet store and that's why Gap Inc. doesn't bother with such stores. However I am here to tell you they do exist. I know they're hard to find; the Old Navy site doesn't even offer help. I used the company's store locator and there is an option to search for only outlet stores but it doesn't bring up any stores for Old Navy. I have heard of one outlet store near Las Vegas. Supposedly there is one (store #01661) in Jean, NV; within Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas.
