Gap Co-Founder Dies
Gap co-founder Donald Fisher, 81, died in September of cancer related issues. Fisher started his first Gap store in San Francisco with a single blue jeans outlet store in 1969 and expanded his business worldwide to a 3,100 store empire selling casual wear. Fisher was a retail industry pioneer who left an indelible inprint on consumers all over the globe. He was a philanthropist and large politcal donor who amassed one of the greatest collections of modern art ever. The Gap company which includes Banana Republic and Old Navy chains selling clothes for men, women, babies and maternity has influenced consumers on style and their bank accounts.Labels: Gap
