Boomtown Rats Banana Republic the Song

Do you guys remember the song Banana Republic? It was originally sung by a band called the Boomtown Rats. The band was from Ireland and did not get much of a warm welcoming home after they made it big. So out of anger they began to write the song known as Banana Republic. Of course the song was meant to be an insult to the Republic of Ireland. So it makes me think all the time about why the clothing store is named after a verbal insult. Does Boomtown Rats' Banana Republic every play within the clothing store? It'd be a funny little joke if it did.
