The Gap Inc. Technology With Compaq
Gap has in-store kiosks that allow customers to shop online while they're in the store. This may sound funny at first, but it also allows customers to order items that their store may be out of or does not carry on a regular basis. The Gap Inc. technology is made up of Compaq computers and FutureTouch's kiosk system. The technology is being tested in California and Minnesota but will probably become regular within all the stores within a year. This system kind of reminds me of Sear's in-store computers in which you can shop from their website or price other retailers.
